Privacy plan
On this page:
What is a privacy plan?
A privacy plan is a document which details how Queensland Government agencies have implemented Queensland Privacy.
IS42 requires each agency to prepare a privacy plan which is approved by the Chief Executive Officer of each agency. IPP 5 sets out what the plan must contain.
A privacy plan must provide details of:
- the types of personal information held by the agency;
- how individuals can access their own personal information that is held by the agency; and
- how the agency will implement Queensland Privacy.
Privacy plans also provide guidance to government officers who deal with personal information.
Are all Queensland Government agencies required to have a privacy plan?
Yes. Each agency is required to have a privacy plan. The privacy plan must be made available to the public and published on the agencys website.
Agency privacy plans can be viewed by accessing the relevant agencys website or by contacting the agencys Privacy Contact Officer to request a copy.
How often must privacy plans be updated
Privacy plans must be updated yearly to accurately reflect the agencys compliance with Queensland Privacy and to keep the public and other agencies informed.
